Fun day at the KZN Botanical Garden…
We started the year with a bang! Our children enjoyed their visit to the KZN Botanical Gardens where they binged on games such as chess and also got the opportunity to learn about nature conservation. Our children are nature lovers and to be exposed to the proceedings of this day was definitely a dream come true , as it included a guided tour of the Gardens. The skills learnt will surely come in handy when it comes to maintaining our own gardens. A huge shout-out to the PCH Management for organizing this day as well as the Management from KZN Botanical Garden for hosting our nature lovers at no cost.
 TLC for our surroundings
The outside space of our home can sometimes be the last on our list when it comes to renovations and changes especially in the extreme chilly and scotching hot temperatures. Our nature lovers choose a day where they will be able to give the garden some much needed TLC without having to worry about unbearable temperature.
During Dec and Jan, Pietermaritzburg experienced heavy rainfall and hail stones which in turn damaged a lot of our vegetable produce  and made the weeds grow faster which are bad for our plants. The children dedicated a day to clean up and weed in some areas needing attention, helping to revive them, and
making our garden look amazing.
Big up to our nature lovers!

You did so well and pushed yourself to your greatest potential. The sleepless nights were not even in vain and we wish you nothing but the best.
The next chapter is officially unlocked…Tertiary life awaits you.

Our  long awaited Hall – Handover is almost here….
Our newest addition is almost ready! The building of our hall started last year and the project is almost completed. The building of this hall has been our longstanding dream and we were most grateful to the Victor Daitz Foundation who approved our funding and allowed the construction to start.
There had been challenging times as we were impacted by the demise of both our Architect, Mr Lumen Govender who played a significant role with all our recent building developments at PCH, and our engineer Mr Preben Naidoo who had a key role to play with the construction of our hall. We acknowledge the support and wonderful work of both these Gentlemen, and pay tribute to their contributions.
We are happy to report that the actual handover will take place in February. This hall will be serving our children, those working in the NGO sector and we envisage it being an asset to our local community.

Here’s to new beginnings!
Meet our Matric class 2022
The past 3 years, we have been blessed with a large number of children in matric. This year again, we have 5  pupils who are in their final secondary school year. Their first day was filled with smiles and excitement. Some were extremely nervous and that is to be expected as this marks an important time of their schooling career. We wish them all the best as they embark on this journey and we couldn’t be more proud of what they have achieved thus far.
Curbing the spread of corona-virus
Our senior children received their jab of Pfizer to protect themselves against this virus that has taken so much from all of us, and they took it like Champs!  Corona virus has been with us for the longest of time and gave us a scare in 2021, when a few of our children and staff tested positive, and this proved to be one of the most hardest periods we had faced! With God’s Grace we overcame it and came out stronger than ever.
To each and everyone of you- Please stay safe and don’t let your guard down, we will overcome this. Start by taking responsibility for yourself and
get yourself vaccinated!
Introducing the new kid on the block-YOCO
Transactions made with simplicity. We often encounter people who want to purchase or make a donation on the spot and the problem is always the fact that we don’t have a card machine to complete this transaction. That is why we have a new and quick way to make payment. It’s simple as 123…remember to tap, swipe or insert your card to complete a transaction.
KFC-Add Hope
This initiative partners with over 138  beneficiaries to ensure that children are receiving a nutritious meal daily. Add Hope raises money through customer donations added at the till or on the Add Hope website, as well as donating a percentage of KFC profits as its own Corporate social responsibility.
This is how it works:
When buying a meal you simply Add R2 for Add Hope to your bill…
Donations are also made by KFC…All that donations goes to the KFC Social Responsibility Trust…who then allocates to suitable applicants
(This Campaign feeds nutritious meals to over 120 000 children every day in South Africa, and PCH is one of their beneficiaries)
Your R2 really does go a long way, and reaches us
to serve our children on a daily basis, so don’t hesitate to make your R2 pledge today!
