Fetching our blessings
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 speaks about time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens. It has been a while since our children physically attended Sunday service. This month, the time finally arrived for them to attend youth and Sunday school at AFM in Woodlands. This is an important time for our young people to strengthen their relationship with God, as well as choose the path they want to take with regards to religion.  During the pandemic, we took comfort in knowing that God never leaves nor forsakes us, in good or bad times – a teaching that is taught to our children at Sunday school. A huge appreciation goes out to the ministry for continuing to spread the word of God.
#God is love
Loving Nature
This month, our nature lovers tackled weeding. According to their teaching, this process is supposed to be done every 2 to 3 weeks so that the crops can strive. They have also learned that weed growth varies from field type or season to season. If weeding is not done, It tends to compete with the actual crop for space, nutrients and water. The nature lovers also took time to collect mulch from the surrounding neighborhood (which is part of a fun field trip in the community!) and this plays a huge role in controlling or stopping the growth of weeds. Apart from this, they also took time to water the fruit trees.
NGO Connex 2022
The thing you might have missed the most is the ability to interact with others since the virus changed the narrative. This month we had a great opportunity to attend the NGO Connex hosted by IIE Varsity College (PMB campus). The aim of the day is to interact with students and also recruit volunteers for our organization as well as increase contacts on the database for our monthly newsletter.
A huge appreciation goes out to the students for receiving us well, as well as showing interest in the work that we do.
To the planning committee led by Sonya Nursoo, thank you so much for hosting us.

A day at the museum
The KZN Museum opened its doors on 30 November 1904 and is now home to several of South Africa’s most important heritage collections. Situated in Loop street which is now known as Jabu Ndlovu street, this tourist attraction welcomes hundreds of people through its doors and our children were lucky enough to be part of those people. The junior units had the opportunity to spend the day at the museum appreciating the nations wealth of history and biodiversity. A huge appreciation goes to to Marsha from the KwaZulu-Natal museum for offering us free entrance, and coordinating the full tour for us! Our children enjoyed this unique experience thoroughly. Thank you for being such great hosts.
#Feeding curious minds.

Introducing the new kid on the block-YOCO
Transactions made with simplicity. We often encounter people who want to purchase or make a donation on the spot and the problem is always the fact that we don’t have a card machine to complete this transaction. That is why we have a new and quick way to make payment. It’s simple as 123…remember to tap, swipe or insert your card to complete a transaction.
KFC-Add Hope
This initiative partners with over 138  beneficiaries to ensure that children are receiving a nutritious meal daily. Add Hope raises money through customer donations added at the till or on the Add Hope website, as well as donating a percentage of KFC profits as its own Corporate social responsibility.
This is how it works:
When buying a meal you simply Add R2 for Add Hope to your bill…
Donations are also made by KFC…All that donations goes to the KFC Social Responsibility Trust…who then allocates to suitable applicants
through the Add Hope Ccampaign.
(This Campaign feeds nutritious meals to over 120 000 children every day in South Africa, and PCH is one of their beneficiaries)

Your R2 really does go a long way, and reaches us
to serve our children on a daily basis, so don’t hesitate to make your R2 pledge today!
The more you contribute to this campaign the better for us in the sector who service vulnerable children, as we are able to receive an increased allocation based on the value of the fund.
