Gearing up for Gardening…
There are specific vegetables that needs to be planted in summer. The children call these “Heat Lovers” meaning that they grow well and require 6 to 8 hours of full sun. Tomatoes, Brinjals and Spinach are among the vegetables that needs higher temperature of thrive. Our garden contains mostly the above mentioned vegetables and that is why we take pride in caring and watering these regularly in order to enhance their growth. It’s already harvest time and we are currently enjoying our very own home grown spinach.
 Our Christmas and Awards Celebrations
After the tough 2 years we’ve had and with hard lockdown in 2020,a little bit of unwinding was desperately needed. On the 06th of December 2021, the children were treated with an Awards and Christmas party at our premises. On this day we recognize each and every child with an award under different categories.  We were treated with different items ranging from gumboot dance, hip-hop, amapiano dance, an amazing musical item by our very own Amazing Soulz Gospel Choir under the leadership of our dedicated Child and Youth Care worker, Sipho Gumede.

A huge appreciation goes to Mrs Fiona Balgobind, our Director, PCH Board Members and the members of our Trust. Also recognizing PCH staff for working extra hard to make this a special day!

Our Matric Class of 2021
This year we were blessed with 6 matriculants who from day one have worked super hard, having to study during these difficult times. They gave it their all and made the necessary sacrifices with sleepless nights. Their resilience and the will power to carry on is highly commended. This December they completed their high school journey. We are super proud of them for going against all odds and tackling this year with confidence and commitment. We await their Matric results and have no doubts they will do themselves as well as us proud!
Staff year-end function
The year-end function is all about fun and glitz. In 2020 we all missed that well deserved year-end event. So this year all 26 staff at PCH were treated to our year-end lunch in Cascades Mall, taking all Covid Protocols into consideration. The theme for the day: floral and blue jeans. On this day it was all about letting our hair down and relaxing over a lovely meal. We also exchanged gifts as we ran our secret santa. Each person writes down any gift they would like to receive for a specific amount decided by all of us and gifts a person anonymously.

Our appreciation goes to our Director Mrs Fiona Balgobind, PCH Board Members and the Trust for making this special day possible.

Stationery drive
With 78 children in our care, stationery is one of our biggest costs. You are most welcome to assist us in reaching our goal of ensuring that each of our children go to school well prepared and equipped.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
To you, our dear family, friends and supporters…
We want to take this opportunity to say
THANK YOU for walking with us through this difficult time. Thank you for your kindness and resilience. This year has been challenging for all of us and yet you chose to be with us every step of the way. Your spirit of giving via cash or kind and your time taken to think of our children is greatly appreciated. As this year comes to an end we wish you a wonderful Christmas and a Joyous Safe and Blessed New Year!!!

With love from the Children, Staff and Board of Directors.

Introducing the new kid on the block-YOCO
Transactions made with simplicity. We often encounter people who want to purchase or make a donation on the spot and the problem is always the fact that we don’t have a card machine to complete this transaction. That is why we have a new and quick way to make payment. It’s simple as 123…remember to tap, swipe or insert your card to complete a transaction.
KFC-Add Hope
This initiative partners with over 138  beneficiaries to ensure that children are receiving a nutritious meal daily. Add Hope raises money through customer donations added at the till or on the Add Hope website, as well as donating a percentage of KFC profits as its own Corporate social responsibility.
This is how it works:
When buying a meal you simply Add R2 for Add Hope to your bill…
Donations are also made by KFC…All that donations goes to the KFC Social Responsibility Trust…who then allocates to suitable applicants
(This Campaign feeds nutritious meals to over 120 000 children every day in South Africa, and PCH is one of their beneficiaries)

Your R2 really does go a long way, and reaches us
to serve our children on a daily basis, so don’t hesitate to make your R2 pledge today!
