This month we were treated with a 3 day- “learn to do it yourself” programme hosted by the KZN museum. Day 1 – was learning how to make Ice-cream. This yummy treat was then enjoyed by all!
Day 2 – Bath salts: these have many benefits such as detoxification, easing soreness and aches as well as soothing for inflammation and swelling. Our children had fun experimenting with smells and colours.
Here’s what you need: Epsom salt, sea salt, baking salt, essential oil and food coloring.
Day 3 – Beading: Nothing beats the pop of colors coming together in that beautiful bangle, necklace or pair of earrings. The girls were busy with bracelets whilst the boys made bangles.
All you need are some colorful beads, beading thread, wire cutters and super glue.
Special Thank You to Marsha and the KZN Museum!!!

On the 18th of July, we remembered a man with many titles- The father of the nation, an anti-apartheid revolutionary, a political leader, a philanthropist and Tata Madiba as preferred by many.
The day began as early as 06H00 am when the staff of PCH as well as the management team took to the streets for our fundraising street campaign. A huge round of appreciation to you, our motorists, who supported our cause.
Rosebank College (PMB Campus) students under the guidance of Slindile- who is the Student Wellness Manager, then took over and chose their preferred roads to continue with the street campaign.
Thank you so much Rosebank for your amazing efforts.
Harcourts and Patrick Co team shared the spirit of Madiba with our Children. Personalized gift bags, packed with loads of goodies
were received by each child with love.
Thank you Harcourts for taking the time off to visit our home and to spread love.
“She is clothed with strength and Dignity” Proverbs 31:25, a scripture shared by Traci and the team as she handed the “SHE STANDS TALL” DIGNITY BOXES to our young ladies at PCH. She also emphasized that God will never leave you nor forsake you. Thank you so much ladies for the love shared.

Mandela/ Gandhi Freedom Route Tour
|
|
How can we end Mandela Day without walking down memory lane and broadening our knowledge regarding this remarkable man. Our seniors had a 3 hour tour and followed Mandela’s trail leading up to his apprehension in Howick. Among the places was the historic railway station, a sacred place as described by the tour guide, where Mahatma Gandhi was thrown off a moving train. The old prison, a cell where Mandela was detained in, after being apprehended in Howick, a place which is now known as the Mandela Capture Site.

The happy ending story of Little M
|
|
Little M came to us when she was 7 years old in March 2010. She was barely able to say a single word and was constantly in need of care and monitoring as she could not stay in one place for more than a few minutes. It took a lot of patience, love and support from the PCH team to work with her over the years to reach a place where she can speak more coherently, indicate her likes and dislikes, be part of programmes, and function at a level where she can identify with and develop appropriate relationships with others. In this time we have helped her through various forms of therapy, attendance at special school and develop both her intellectual and social skills. It has also been a long journey tracing family for this special needs child and we made a breakthrough this past month, with M visiting some extended family members for 2 weeks, as part of our reunification processes. We are all excited that this first step was successful, and look forward to reintegrating back into the community and with her new found family members in the near future. These small but very significant moments in a child’s life, is what makes us proud to work in the childcare sector. Thank you to our dedicated team for making this goal achievable for our little M.

We often encounter people who want to purchase or make a donation on the spot and the problem is always the fact that we don’t have a card machine to complete this transaction. That is why we have a new and quick way to make payment. It’s simple as 123…remember to tap, swipe or insert your card to complete a transaction.

This i nitiative partners with over 138 beneficiaries to ensure that children are receiving a nutritious meal daily. Add Hope raises money through customer donations added at the till or on the Add Hope website, as well as donating a percentage of KFC profits as its own Corporate social responsibility.

Donations are also made by KFC…All that donations goes to the KFC Social Responsibility Trust…who then allocates to suitable applicants
