Matric Ball and Graduation season.

A child’s milestone will always be celebrated at PCH. From the very first time a child joins PCH family to the last. From their first day of school to the last. November/December is the official MD and graduation season. Our little boy, who joined PCH this year had his graduation from creche and is ready to officially join the big school- grade 1. This year 3 from 5 of our matriculants attended their MD and this marked their final day of “signing off” from the 12 years of schooling and gearing up for tertiary.

Well done to them on reaching this milestone!

We wish our children, both young and old, the best in the following year ahead.

Movie Night fundraiser

This year, as part of our fundraising we opted to host a movie night. Fundraising has been difficult since COVID especially for NGOs. We did our best to promote ticket sales and advertising and appreciated the support of our wonderful stall holders, who did their best to support us despite the sudden storm that dampened the event. Despite the weather, we had an exceptional sound and screen from Kahnns Outdoor Movies, and did not let the rain dampen the mood, as we moved the movie into our hall.

The small amount of funds secured, does make a difference to us!

Our greatest gratitude goes out to the public that supported us, the stall holders, Kahnn’s Outdoor Movies as well as our friends and families.

Spare an item from your cupboard.

During the month of October to November, we visited a total of 42 schools in and around Pietermaritzburg with a campaign that aims to cut costs for the organization. We are grateful for the warm welcome we received at these schools.

A huge appreciation goes to Ridgeview Primary School for their donation of canned foods, pasta and soups.

Ridge Junior Primary School-for the donation of school shoes, grocery items, cleaning detergents and cosmetics.

Heather Secondary School- for mealie meals, rice, canned food and milk

Northbury Park Secondary School-for blessing us with toilet rolls, cosmetics and cleaning detergents.

Thank you so much to the parents, the learners, the principals and teachers for coordinating everything.

We really appreciate you as all your efforts were noticed.

Children’s Awards day/ Christmas party

It’s that time of the year, where we appreciate and recognize our Children who have done exceptionally well for the year, in our case- it is our 77 children. After Christmas shopping, comes the Awards and Christmas party. On this day our children were awarded with certificates for making a difference in their respective cottages, for their academic excellence, Astro league (soccer) and Amazing Soulz Choir. We also said our goodbyes to our 5 matriculants who will be reunified with their families.

The children sealed the day with lots of dancing, singing and Christmas carols.

A special appreciation goes to KFC ADD HOPE for sponsoring a wonderful meal for all our attendees, our Board of Directors for making this possible and our Director who motivates for such days!
